Mini Makers

Class Description

Our Mini Makers class for ages 3-6 takes STEM exploration a step further! After a circle time with songs and a read aloud , kids jump into STEM learning with hands-on activities and wrap up with a maker activity to take home! This class includes 45 minutes of guided instruction and 45 minutes of open play. Caregivers must stay in the building but do not need to attend the class portion. Mini Makers begins with 15 minutes of caregiver-supervised open play (from 3:30-3:45), then moves into our classroom for the guided activity (3:45-4:30), and concludes with 30 more minutes of caregiver-supervised open play (4:30-5:00). Caregivers do not need to attend the classroom portion but do need to stay in our building for the full 90 minutes. Need to cancel? Please call or email us 24 hours before the start time of the class to be eligible for a credit. If you have a class package, you may contact us to cancel any time before the start of the class. October Classes: -Week of 10/30: Spooky STEM (Mon & Tues class) / Pumpkins (Weds Classes) November Classes: -Week of 11/6: Shapes: 🟦 In this kid-friendly loose parts geometry class, we will play with all sorts of circles, triangles, squares, and more… and use them to build, sort, stamp in play dough, and create new shapes! 🔴 🔶 -Week of 11/13: Leaves & Seeds: 🍁 Jump into leaf piles, rake them back up, make leaf prints, sift your fingers through seeds, and watch seeds glide down in this fun fall STEM class! -Week of 11/20: NO CLASS- Thanksgiving -Week of 11/27: Construction: 🚧 Beep beep! Get ready to make tracks in the mud, build and destruct, and drive trucks through the building site as we get messy in our construction themed class! December Classes: -Week of 12/4: Robots: 🤖 Get busy with kid friendly robots! We will use robots to draw and work through mazes, investigate parts of robots with wood construction toys, stack robots to make towers, and even try to catch robotic fish in water! -Week of 12/11: Welcome Winter: ❄️ Jump into the chilliest season with hands-on STEM fun! Run fingers through a snow sensory bin, learn about which animals hibernate and how, see snowflakes blow through the wind tunnel, and investigate different evergreen trees. -Week of 12/18: 🔆 Investigate things that glow as we make it through the longest nights of the year! Build glowing structures with Magna-tiles and tea lights, shine flashlights on colors and shapes, and play with shadow puppets as we bright light to the dark!
