Hands-on Exploration

Classes at The Wonder Lab feature interactive learning through doing! Our engaging activities centered on kid-friendly STEM topics invite children to use all their senses and feature new materials every week.

Welcoming Environment

Our small class sizes to give young children space to play and explore. Educators take the time to get to know children and caregivers so that all families feel welcome and safe in our learning environment!

Open Play Included

Our classes begin with 30 minutes of open play in our play space to give families time to transition and a little breathing room if they are running late. This also allows families to connect in a more unstructured way.

Learning Through Play

Our play-based classes each feature a different STEM topic designed to engage children’s curiosity. Children are natural scientists and we invite them to explore class activities at their own pace and follow their own interests.

SEPTEMBER 30 & OCTOBER 1: CONSTRUCTION 🚧 Beep beep! Get ready to make drive trucks through the dirt, build and destruct with our own wrecking ball, mix up some pretend cement and use kid-friendly tools as we get messy in our construction themed class!

OCTOBER 7 & 8: POTIONS 🧪 Get ready to make some bubbly concoctions as you mix and pour colorful, kid-safe chemicals for some surprising results!

OCTOBER 14 & 15: ROBOTS 🤖 Robots: Get ready for robot rumpus as we use robots to draw on paper, navigate mazes, build towers, and zoom across the room!

OCTOBER 21 & 22: PUMPKINS 🎃 Dig through real pumpkin guts to find seeds, practice hammering into pumpkins, compare pumpkins by size and weight, and roll pumpkins down ramps!

OCTOBER 28 & 29: SPOOKY STEM 👻 Get spooky as we play with bubbling cauldrons, dissolving ghosts, weaving spider webs and more in this fun and zany Halloween-themed class!⁠

SEPT 29 & OCT 3: CONSTRUCTION 🚧 We will put our babies to work using toy yellow trucks to scoop and move yellow cooked couscous as we sing and learn about the construction site!

OCTOBER 6 & 10: POTIONS 🧪 Mix up a bubbling baby brew as we sing songs about potions and watch to see what happens when we mix baking soda & vinegar.

OCTOBER 13 & 17: ROBOTS 🤖 Brush off your robot dancing skills and entertain your little one with action songs before we dig through crisp rice cereal with toy robots hiding inside!

OCTOBER 20 & 24: PUMPKINS 🎃 Get ready for spooky season as we sing songs about pumpkins and squish our fingers through canned pumpkin!

OCTOBER 27: SPOOKY STEM 👻 Celebrate your baby’s first spooky season as we sing Halloween songs and squish themed jello shapes! Note: no class on Friday 10/31 due to our Halloween party!

SEPT 29 & OCT 3: CONSTRUCTION 🚧 Learn about building and demolition as we build walls with cardboard bricks and knock them down with an inflatable wrecking ball, drive trucks through a dirt sensory bin, practice tools skills and work with pulleys. Mini Makers will use hammers and paint to make construction site process art to take home!

OCTOBER 6 & 10: POTIONS 🧪 Learn about chemical reactions as we mix and pour all kinds of kid-safe potions. Experiment with changing colors, dissolving materials, bubbles, and baking soda and vinegar and then make your own potion sensory bottle to take home!

OCTOBER 13 & 17: ROBOTS 🤖 Play and experiment with all sorts of kid-friendly robots as we learn basic coding techniques! Draw pictures with a scribble bot, build a maze for hexbugs, assemble robots with building sets, sprinkle crumbs for a robot vacuum to suck up and play with all of our play space robots! Make your own jointed cardboard robot to take home.

OCTOBER 20 & 24: PUMPKINS 🎃 Compare and contrast real pumpkins and practice math skills as we weigh and measure, use geometric shapes to make pumpkin faces, hammer golf tees into pumpkins and tickle our fingers through a pumpkin patch sensory bin. Use paper punches to create your own pumpkin shadow puppets!

OCTOBER 27: SPOOKY STEM 👻 Celebrate Halloween with a little STEM fun as we experiment with fizzing ghosts, assemble skeletons, weave spider webs and mix up some spooky brews! Mini Makers finish the class with cool wax resist “ghost” art.

JANUARY 6 & 7: SOUNDS LIKE FUN 🪇 Get ready to start moving and dancing as we learn about the science of sound! Try different musical instruments, bang on pots and pans with utensils, guess mystery sounds & build with jingle bells & magnets.

JANUARY 13 & 14: ROCKS, FOSSILS & VOLCANOES 🌋 Get down and dirty as we investigate different kinds of rocks, dig for fossils in sand, press shapes into play dough to make our own fossils and experiment with kid-safe volcanic eruptions!

JANUARY 20 & 21: FAIRYTALES 🏰 The Gingerbread Man, Rapunzel, Jack, and The Billy Goats Gruff need our help! Use catapults, parachutes, slides and building skills to solve problems for these familiar friends.

JANUARY 27 & 28: GROUNDHOG DAY & WEATHER Will the groundhog see his shadow? Learn about weather as we explore what changes from winter to spring, experiment with rain, wind & model tornados, build fluffy clouds and build a groundhog den!

JANUARY 12 & 16: ROCKS, FOSSILS & VOLCANOES 🌋 Learn about different kinds of rocks and how they form form as we use playdough to make model fossils, take a closer look at geodes on the light table, sift through sand in a model fossil dig, and experiment with kid-safe volcanic eruptions! Make your own sparkling watercolor geode to take home.

JANUARY 19 & 23: FAIRYTALES 🏰 The Gingerbread Man, Rapunzel, Jack, and The Billy Goats Gruff need our help! Use catapults, parachutes, slides and building skills to solve problems for these familiar friends. Make a an optical illusion toy to turn a frog into a price!

JANUARY 26 & 30: GROUNDHOG DAY & WEATHER Learn about the science of weather and making predictions as we read about this wacky holiday and construct different cloud types, build a groundhog den, and experiment with rain, wind & model tornados! Make your own groundhog shadow puppet to take home.

Make a cute clothespin “love bug” to take home.

FEB 16 & 20: PLAYFUL PATTERNS 🌀 Explore visual and textured patterns as make patterns with playdough, sand, crayons , colored beads, and light! Use patterned collage paper and washi tape to pair together a paper pattern quilt to take home.

FEB 23 & 27: FOLLOW YOUR NOSE 👃 Investigate your sense of smell as we mix fresh herbs into play dough, draw on sandpaper with cinnamon sticks, activate tea bags with warm water, and play with a citrus sensory bin! Test your smelling skills by matching scents and painting scratch and sniff art to bring home.
